Original Hotties Heat Logs

Hotties Heat Logs

Original UK-made Hotties

The original Hotties Heat Logs are no longer being manufactured, but Westmorland Woodfuel still has a substantial supply available.

Made in the UK from compressed renewable wood residues, these dense, dry briquettes provide powerful and reliable heat without expanding or crumbling as they burn.

In my opinion, the original Hotties remain the pick of the bunch for convenient wood fuel. They offer excellent performance and value, whether used on their own or alongside ordinary firewood.

Why choose original Hotties?

Original Hotties are made in the UK from clean, renewable wood residues, compressed into a dense and exceptionally dry heat log. This gives them a powerful and consistent heat output, without the crumbling, expanding, spitting or sparking associated with some other compressed wood fuels.

They are clean and convenient to handle, produce very little ash and can be stored neatly until needed. Hotties are suitable for wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves and can either be burned on their own or added to ordinary firewood when you want to increase the heat output.

One of the biggest advantages of the original Hotties is their compact size. Unlike the newer, much larger XL briquettes, they are easy to break or add individually to the fire. This makes them particularly useful in smaller stoves, or when you simply want to add one or two heat logs for an extra boost rather than completely reload the stove.

Original Hotties are also Woodsure Ready to Burn certified, providing reassurance that they meet the required moisture and fuel-quality standards.

Are original Hotties discontinued?

Yes. Production of the original UK-made Hotties has stopped, and they have been replaced by a different, larger product.

Westmorland Woodfuel secured a substantial remaining supply of the originals, so they are still available from us while stocks last.

For customers who already know and prefer the original Hotties, this is an opportunity to continue buying the smaller and more versatile briquette rather than moving immediately to an alternative.

Hotties XL

We can also supply Hotties XL, the larger product introduced as an alternative to the original Hotties.

Each XL briquette weighs approximately 2 kg, with five briquettes making up a 10 kg pack. They burn cleanly, provide excellent heat and do not expand in the way that some compressed briquettes can.

However, their larger size makes them less versatile than the originals, particularly in smaller stoves or when you only want to add a modest amount of fuel.

Hotties XL will normally be available for larger orders of approximately 25 packs or 250 kg and above. Please contact us for availability and a current quotation.
